I adapted the novel here based on the song "You Are My Light".
One sentence: At night in Hengdian, I chased the light and met you.
Su Wan is a prop master in Hengdian and has repaired countless lamps. The most precious one was smashed by his father and then repaired. Lin Shen has been an extra actor for ten years. He has played countless dead people, and he has been waiting for the sentence "You are worth it."
Their encounter wasn't romantic - the reflector hit him on the head. She ran over and said sorry, and he got up and continued filming, leaving only one sentence: "The lighting is okay."
Later she discovered that this person had either a bad mouth or a stupid mouth. He would squat next to her and hand her tissues when she was crying. He would wait for her with a kerosene lamp when she worked overtime until the early hours of the morning. He would carve the water stains on the ceiling that he had seen for ten years into wooden birds and give them to her.
The night in Hengdian is very long. She fixed the lights and he acted. She chased the light left by her father, and he chased the sight he saw.
"The light is not in the horizon, nor in the heights. It's in the look you look at me."
This is a story about waiting, seeing, and two kerosene lamps.
