Lin Ye rented a cheap apartment in the old part of town, and from then on, an uncanny presence hounded him without end.
The knocks at two in the morning were always right on time. The crow pecking at his door wasn't alive, and the eyes watching him through the crack had never belonged to a human face.
Only after stumbling into a world of rule-based horror did he understand:
Here, ghosts and monsters don't simply slaughter people. There are only rules you must obey, even if it costs you your life.
Never look back when a flock of crows leads the way. Never meet the eyes of a passerby in the fog. Never answer a whisper from the dark. Every word on a note pinned to the wall demands your life.
Break the rules, and you die on the spot.
Follow the rules, and you slowly waste away.
While everyone else crumbled in fear, Lin Ye ran like a madman through the narrow gap between life and death.
He could see hidden threads no one else could, hear the faint echoes of rules no one else could hear, and, with a piece of black jade left by his grandmother in hand, carve a path to survival through one forbidden place after another.
As countless people perished, trapped by the rules, he strode onward through the uncanny and gradually discovered...
The rules binding everyone were a trap set for him alone.
"The Crow Code" takes the confrontation between law and disorder as its core to build an ups and downs fantasy world. The protagonist Lin Ye goes from the decisive battle in the ruins to suppressing evil in a small town, and then goes deep into the Canglan Sea, adhering to the mission of the Crow all the way, and the character growth is clear. The story has a tight rhythm, the battle descriptions are full of tension, and the villains such as the Evil Lord Guixu and the remnant soul of the rebel crow have their own characteristics, which not only creates a tense and exciting crisis atmosphere, but also digs into the mission and perseverance of the confrontation between good and evil. The writing style is calm and majestic, and the depth of lawfulness is evident between the lines. Every battle hides the persistence of justice. It makes people read it heartily and can't help but follow the protagonist on the next journey.
Compared with the straightforward killing of ghosts and monsters, this kind of loneliness and despair of unknown, suspicious, and nowhere to turn to is the most deadly. The sense of immersion is so strong that you can't escape the shadow of the story for a long time after reading it. Readers who prefer articles with a strange atmosphere must close their eyes and enter the pit.
When pain becomes the norm, can people control pain? Fang Xiu's transformation from fear to indifference to turning pain into strength is very immersive. This is not only a refreshing novel, but also a dark fairy tale written for "rational control people". It tells us that in a weird world where there is no reason to explain, the ultimate rationality itself is the strongest weapon.
"Crow Code" uses the confrontation between law and disorder to support a grand world view. The protagonist Lin Ye kills evil spirits, suppresses rebellious souls, and protects ruins along the way. The growth line is clear and passionate. The battle descriptions are full of tension, and the scenes such as the ruins of the ancient crow and the deep sea are full of atmosphere. There are not only hearty duels, but also a sense of inheritance and perseverance. The pace is compact and not procrastinating, the world view is laid out layer by layer, and the more you read, the more you get into it. It is a rare high-quality fantasy masterpiece in recent years.
Definitely an underrated masterpiece! No matter the plot rhythm, character creation or writing style, it is impeccable. There is no peeing point throughout the whole process. The more you watch, the more you will enjoy it. Highly recommended!
It's better than ordinary ghost story rules
