School or Work? I Choose the Mountains

Lin Zhigao had just swallowed his vow to "make it on his own after graduation" when he sheepishly showed up at his older brother and sister-in-law's house, only to witness an unbelievable scene: his sister-in-law, Zhong Li, a big name in obstetrics and gynecology, was crying so hard over her two hopeless twin students that her eyeliner had run into panda eyes!

These sixth-grade "bottom-of-the-class" kids had driven away six nannies and eight tutors in a single year. Even the agency workers took detours to avoid them. They were the ultimate "refund-demanding machines."

Seeing that his sister-in-law was about to worry herself into a heart attack, she offered him an "emergency fee" and begged for help. Lin Zhigao's eyes lit up like bulbs. After all, when you're so broke you're about to fight stray dogs for their food, how could you pass up such a cushy gig where you could "do whatever you want, as long as nobody dies"?

He didn't teach lessons or nag them about homework. Instead, he made the two kids swear a devilish pact: "If you don't have fun, I'll confiscate your New Year's money." Then he launched into wild adventures in the countryside. They caught crayfish and screamed when the claws pinched them, caught fish in the rice paddies and fell into the mud like monkeys, pulled peanuts until their little hands turned red, hunted mushrooms like they were searching for treasure, hiked until they collapsed, and hugged corn until they grinned from ear to ear... Their spoils piled up like a mountain at home. His sister-in-law sent her husband a video and complained, "The three of them, uncle and nephews, have finally gone completely crazy together."

A month later, the former little terrors were crying as they begged to do their homework. "Little Uncle is a hundred times scarier than our homeroom teacher! Studying really is paradise!"

After the kids turned over a new leaf, Lin Zhigao faced unemployment. But then messages started pouring into his group chat: "Brother Lin, we're heading up the mountain. Take us with you!"

Lin Zhigao took a few of his dorm mates along to clear land in the mountains and livestream their adventures. Though they could have made a living off their looks, they began a grueling life of manual labor.
