Burning the Divine Body in the Northern Song

Political intrigue | Ancient fantasy | No golden finger | No overpowered cheats | No mindless nonsense

Everyone knows of the Jingkang Humiliation, but few know that twins had already defied fate in the waning years of the Northern Song.

One becomes a black-clad prince, dwelling in the abyss of the imperial court. Obsessed with elixirs of immortality, he manipulates factional strife and treats the realm as a board for his alchemical schemes.

The other becomes a white-clad wanderer, bearing the fate of a demon star. He roams the land with sword in hand, gathering the Thirty-Six Celestial Spirits and Seventy-Two Earthly Fiends, determined to rebuild the backbone of the Great Song with his blood and fire.

Brothers of one blood, traveling in opposite directions.

One seeks eternal life and turns his back on the people; the other fights to save the people in a time of chaos, burning himself away for their sake.

The Chongning Comet descends, and the nation’s fortunes teeter on the brink.

When the obsession with immortality collides with the greater good,

will the Great Song meet its ruin, or defy heaven and turn the tide?
