I have read about 20 chapters so far. The characters are very well drawn and very attractive. Some of the author's emotions are written very delicately and accurately. I can sympathize with the many thoughts and hesitations that I have suffered from. But what stopped me from reading is the author's writing style. It's not that the writing style is bad, it just feels inconsistent. Obviously I am reading a novel that should be considered a narrative, but this one looks like I am reading prose. Many metaphors and rhetorical comparisons are a bit tiring to read. The author likes to use the sentence pattern of not x, not x, but x. Sometimes it can appear three, four or five times in a chapter, especially in the early stage when they are not together and there is less interaction, so most of them are various psychological or side descriptions. Good descriptions are a bonus, but too many of them make it feel like reading prose poetry and even a bit embarrassing.
