The apocalypse descends, and order collapses.

Do good deeds to earn merit, which can be exchanged for power and used to unlock special abilities.
Do evil deeds to accumulate karmic debt, bringing misfortune and heavenly punishment that will erase you.
And so, a villain forced to reform is born.
But the way he does good leaves every survivor speechless.
A gang is hoarding supplies? He pays them a visit to "encourage a donation," with a cleaver.
A thug is bullying the weak? He steps in to help, crippling all four limbs.
The survivors are scattered and disorganized? He unites the camp and lays down the rules: no freeloaders, and violators die.
People come to regard him with awe as the "Dread Fiend."
He sneers. "I do good for those few points of merit. Don't think I'm such a good person."
Until one day, he discovers
he isn't the only one with a System.
And he is just one of the "prey" being raised by some other entity.
"Got enough merit? Then I won't hold back."
A greedy laugh comes from beneath a silver mask.
Lin Xiao wipes the blood from his blade.
"Funny, I was just wondering how much merit you 'hypocrites' are worth."
