Ziwei Reborn: Protecting Yan's Marriage to Tai, Helping Qing Become Empress

• Sweet, doting everyday life for Xiao Yanzi and Ertai

• Yongqi and Qing’er: married first, fall in love later

Saiya forces Benjamin into a relationship

Thirty years later, Ziwei and Erkang travel to Dali and reunite with their old friends, their hearts heavy with emotion. Xiao Yanzi and Yongqi have shed the sharpness of their youth and are trapped in the daily grind, arguing endlessly over their children and household chores. Xiao Jian and Qing’er are no longer as deeply in love as they once were; life has worn down their edges, leaving only a quiet, mundane companionship. Yongqi spends half his life longing for Mianyi, while Qing’er never gets to see the Empress Dowager one last time. Everyone is left with a lifetime of regrets. On the way back to the capital, a landslide strikes without warning. In that instant between life and death, Ziwei returns to her youth. This time, she refuses to let everyone repeat their mistakes. She is determined to help Xiao Yanzi marry Ertai and become close sisters-in-law for life; to help Yongqi and Qing’er achieve their heart’s desires; and, with her talent and ambition, to serve the Great Qing alongside them, bring everyone a happy ending, and make sure no one wastes half their life again.

Note: Although I wrote Xiao Yanzi and Ertai as a couple, I’m not making Yongqi look bad. I think that no matter what, Yongqi’s love is absolutely worth recognizing!
