A period slice-of-life story, not a wish-fulfillment novel. Slow-paced, with child-rearing, gossip, and everyday family matters... She transmigrates to 1975, with no golden finger, planning to lie flat and live an ordinary life. No black-market dealings... In her previous life: a homeroom teacher at a prestigious elementary school, screamed at by parents until she had a heart attack. In this life: a rural schoolteacher who has just seen her grandfather off, and then her grandmother. Shi Zhixia: Enough. I’m joining my husband at his post. I’m lying flat. The life she expects after joining him: each of them doing their own thing, without bothering the other. The life she actually gets: her battalion commander husband bringing her wash water, serving her meals, buying fabric, and sneaking glances at her. Zhou Xiangchuan, get a grip! Zhou Xiangchuan: I’ve got wife-brain. There’s no cure. Xiaoshu: What about me? Zhou Xiangchuan: Your job is to be cute. #ShiZhixiaHasWifeBrain# #PoorLittleBaozi# A recent bit of self-indulgent brainstorming... “What if a teacher could transmigrate?”
