Beginning with the fall of Xiangyang, this is a tale of heroes amid chaos, linking the forging of the Heaven-Reliant Sword and Dragon-Slaying Sabre, Guo Jing and Huang Rong’s deaths defending the city, the marriage of Yang Guo and Guo Fu, and the early histories of Mount Hua, Emei, Wudang, the Ming Cult, and other sects. It tells of an age when The Return of the Condor Heroes ends and The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber begins.
Xiao Longnu dies on the journey home from the South Sea. Yang Guo’s hair turns white overnight, and the martial world loses the Condor Heroes, but gains an unwilling echo from the dying age.
By then, Kublai Khan has already defeated Ariq Böke, and his iron cavalry is heading south. Xiangyang is on the brink of collapse. Guo Jing and Huang Rong know the empire is doomed. In secret, they join forces with Feng Mofeng’s former followers and the surviving Taohua Island line, planning to reforge divine weapons with dark iron and conceal the Nine Yin Manual, Yue Fei’s military writings, and the last sparks of resistance against the Yuan within the blade and saber. Thus are born the Heaven-Reliant Sword and the Dragon-Slaying Sabre.
On the day the city falls, Guo Jing and Huang Rong die defending it, and Guo Polu falls amid the chaos. Huang Yaoshi and Yang Guo arrive to reinforce them, but it is too late. Only the Divine Condor swoops down through the sea of flames and saves Guo Fu, covered in blood. She thought Yang Guo was the person she hated most in the world, yet the one who walks out of Xiangyang’s inferno with her is, of all people, him.
Years later, a new sect is founded on Mount Hua, Emei rises amid the chaos, Wudang is still in its infancy, and the Ming Cult secretly returns to power. Some say Dugu Qiubai appeared out of nowhere. Others say a secret scroll in the palace has a strange origin, or that Cheng Kun’s sinister finger technique seems to come from an old tradition of the Ancient Tomb.
And it all began with that late-arriving snowstorm on the walls of Xiangyang.
Here, Guo Jing and Huang Rong were so kind to Yang Guo. They went all the way around just to let Yang Guo live (the second half of Guo Jing's message to him was to let Yang Guo live; Huang Rong's last message was also worried about Yang's debts and affections), and even sent Yang Guo's biological son to reunite with him in advance. Guo Fu's arm was "cut off" and her personality changed drastically. She followed Yang Guo all the way and her hair turned white. She finally got here and watched the father and son reunite...
It's pretty good... But all the Riddlers are too hard to watch.
It's good to watch, and it's also fun to watch. One star less because I didn't think too much and looked a little tired.
I have been through Fu99, but now I have only watched Fuwen!
Who is Yang Dingtian's mother?
