Dream of the Red Chamber Reboot: Daiyu Wields a Miniature Missile

Special forces soldier Tie Bing dies on the battlefield and wakes up as the frail Lin Daiyu. She has a fully stocked military arsenal with her: mini missiles, precision rifles, loitering munitions, a powered exoskeleton, and enough firepower to sweep through the entire ancient world. Before she can celebrate, the System’s cold voice rings out: [Core rule: Maintain Lin Daiyu’s sickly, delicate persona at all times. Break character and you will be erased immediately!] From then on, Tie Bing enters extreme survival mode. When others bow, she nearly puts Jia Mu in a chokehold. When Baoyu smashes his jade, she lunges in as a human shield, shouting, “Get down, there’s a bomb!” The System forces her to take three inches at a time, so she walks like a little donkey that’s just had horseshoes nailed on. When she wants to swear, all she can do is clutch her chest and cough. When she wants to beat someone up, all she can do is shed pear-blossom tears. Everyone in the Jia household worries about Miss Lin, who looks as if a gust of wind could knock her over. Tie Bing is the only one cursing inwardly: “Everybody better behave! If anyone else messes with me, I’ll cough until you’re all consumed with guilt! And when no one’s around, I’ll use a missile to blow the roof off your house!” Then one day, soldiers sent to confiscate the Jia household’s estate surround the gates. Everyone trembles with fear. Then they see Lin Daiyu slowly pull a palm-sized launcher from her sleeve. She clutches her chest and coughs as if her lungs are tearing apart, but her gaze is cold as ice: “Officers, let’s talk this out. Otherwise... one shot from this, and your whole camp will be gone.”
