It focuses on the grassroots details of promoting books in Alexandria that the original story did not explore, offering a different perspective.

It downplays power struggles among the upper ranks and focuses instead on the vivid stories of ordinary people getting their first book, with emotions grounded in everyday life.

The gap between commoners and nobles is enormous, but gradually narrows as the story progresses, especially in the later parts.

I wonder how many guys enjoy Ascendance of a Bookworm. With the anime’s fourth season airing, I reread the original story. It felt like there was still so much about Alexandria after the ending that could be written about.

The author started a continuation featuring Hime of Misfortune. I read the web serial back then too, but felt that the stories of Myne and Ferdinand, told from Hime of Misfortune’s perspective, made up too little of the story, and that it didn’t show much about how Alexandria had changed. So I decided to write my own fanfiction continuing the story of Myne’s territory, Alexandria.

The story is set one year after the ending, on the day Ehrenfest officially changes its name to Alexandria. Although the final chapter is the inauguration ceremony, I considered that Clarivale and Sigiswald had been demoted from royalty to archdukes, and that the newly inaugurated territory would not be changed by the goddess Myne’s abundant mana. There was also Ehrenfest’s reform and the first signs of Ferdinand’s feelings, as well as the newly established research building and library. They might not have had much time to push through reforms at breakneck speed, and they also couldn’t slight the former royal family. So I’ve placed the official renaming ceremony after the Archduke Conference, one year after the original story ends. Fellow fans of Myne, take a look.
