The Victorious Fighting Buddha Is a Substitute

Transmigrated as the biggest victim in Journey to the West, the Six-Eared Macaque. I took Sun Wukong’s place as the Victorious Fighting Buddha, playing the part of a docile monkey at Spirit Mountain for a hundred years. The “self-forgetting” prayer beads the Tathagata put around my neck made me forget who I was. Until, at the Ullambana Festival, I blurted out at the gods and Buddhas filling the sky, “You old Tathagata!” The prayer beads cracked. A voice laughed inside my head: “Good disciple, you’re quite the actor.” It was Sun Wukong’s voice. His remnant soul was attached to the Golden Cudgel. He said, “That Tathagata tricked me. When the golden bowl came down over my head, you used my cudgel to land the final blow.” He said, “But now, I need you to keep acting.” He said, “Act until those bald monks at Spirit Mountain believe you, act until...” “Act until I get my body back and tear off the Tathagata’s head with my own hands.” Then a prompt appeared from the System I was bound to: 【Identity Exposure Progress: 1%】 【Time Until Death: 99 days】
