[Period setting + both leads reborn + fair-skinned sickly beauty + dark-skinned rough-and-tumble soldier + space + age gap + sweet romance + spirit pet]
Shen Jiaojiao had been reborn.
In her previous life, a bowl of water arranged by her stepsister, Su Yingwan, left her chained in a cowshed deep in the mountains, where she was tormented for three months.
Meanwhile, Su Yingwan took her space pendant and dowry, married her deputy regiment commander fiancé in her place, and eventually became a respected general’s wife.
The Qin family despised Shen Jiaojiao, and the Su family threw her out.
Only Lu Chenye, the rough-tempered, fierce-looking dark-skinned officer no one dared to cross, married her despite the rumors.
But he died on a disaster relief mission three months later.
With no one to protect her, she was framed for theft by Su Yingwan, sentenced to labor in the countryside, and eventually froze to death one winter.
Reborn, Shen Jiaojiao swore she would reclaim her space, take revenge on Su Yingwan, marry Lu Chenye, and make sure he stayed alive.
But when they reunited, Lu Chenye coldly turned her down and even offered to find her another match.
Shen Jiaojiao: “...”
She cried her eyes out while he stayed as cold as a stone.
Fine. If you’re going to find me a match, I’ll marry him.
As it turned out, the man tore up her marriage certificate in the middle of the night.
“What are you doing?”
Lu Chenye gritted his teeth. “What do you think? We’re getting married!”
He admitted that he couldn’t let go, couldn’t loosen his grip, and couldn’t bear to give her up.
Because he had been reborn too.
Later, everyone in the military district said that the fearsome “King of Hell” Lu of the First Regiment had married a delicate little white rabbit and turned into a doting husband.
Late at night, the burly man carefully curled her into his arms and kissed her hair. His voice was so hoarse it hardly sounded like his own.
“Jiaojiao, my heart aches for you.”
It feels like the plot has improved in the later parts, and it's more comfortable to watch later than the first, so keep an eye out. (It would be nice if there were more. 🧐
