In 2147, amid the ruins left by the Third World War, the Supreme Command rules the world through seven enforcement armies. Every soldier has a “discipline chip” implanted in their brain. Orders from superiors become an unavoidable “cause,” while obedience is the only possible “effect.” This is the most extreme causality-based weapon in human history, and the foundation of the Supreme Command's rule. For thirty years, countless rebels have been forced by their chips to execute their own loved ones and comrades. Free will has become the most extravagant fantasy of the age.
But artificial shackles aren't the only things that bind this world. A soldier stripped of free will by his discipline chip climbs from last place to the top of the leaderboard in causality-based instances. His ultimate goal is to use a world artifact to destroy every chip and restore humanity's freedom.
It's very beautiful, the author writes it very well
