Three Kingdoms: Lord Lu, Please Stop Scolding Me

By a twist of fate, Cao Cao awakens the ability to “translate inner thoughts,” allowing him to hear the “furious rants” that his chief strategist, Lu Chen, makes deep down about him and the state of the realm. Lu Chen is a modern civil servant who just wants to keep his head down and enjoy a quiet retirement. Unfortunately, every sharp “insult” he makes about the flaws in Cao Cao’s strategies sounds to Cao Cao like a brilliant way to turn the tables. As Cao Cao’s power grows, he realizes that although Lu Chen curses him to his face, he has never acted against him. So Cao Cao begins his “scheming emperor’s PUA routine,” forcing Lu Chen into high office and even arranging an “abdication” on his deathbed that Lu Chen cannot refuse, making this a story of the formidable Cao Cao versus Lu Chen, a work-weary strategist whose words say one thing while his actions say another
