Mad Dog He Erqing's Past in the Northeast

In 1991, He Erqing, a gangster from Yanyang, fled to Harbin due to betrayal and murder. He was penniless and made a living by moving vegetables in Daowai vegetable market. He rebuilt the building on Jingyu Street and established a monument for the iron industry. Store salesman Xiao Xia is pregnant with his child, named "Nian Cheng". But he must return to Yanyang to settle old scores. The change went back with him, lost his true nature in the rivers and lakes of Yanyang, and was stabbed to death by his younger brother for his many evil deeds. He Erqing was shot to death by the police in the flames of the unfinished building. Before he died, he asked someone to bring an ax and a note to Xiaoxia: "What I owe you, I will pay you back in the next life." Many years later, when Nian grew up, he took his son to visit the grave under the old elm tree every Qingming Festival. Engraved on the stele is a small ax with the blade pointing downwards, as if it is chopping something or planting something. This is a story about loyalty and betrayal, debt and repayment. A person spends his whole life repaying his debt, and in the end, nothing is left, only an axe, and a monument without words.
