Top Ghost-type Pokémon Master Ling Ye was sucked into a parallel world by a space-time black hole while challenging Giratina. His six partners, including Gengar and Aegislash, were scattered, leaving only Gengar by his side.
This is a world without Pokemon. Its technology is on par with that of the protagonist's original world, but all kinds of ghost stories and supernatural legends are widespread across the globe. These ghosts are not fictional, but real spiritual entities. Most are formed from human negative emotions such as fear, sorrow, and resentment, while others arise from mutations caused by residual energy from space-time turbulence. They embody traits from classic ghost stories and legends around the world, and vary greatly in strength and behavior. Some hide in human society, while others claim specific territories and pose a threat to people. Ordinary people are helpless against them, and only a select few can perceive them or use rudimentary methods to ward them off.
Additional setting details (Mega Evolution + the power of bonds): Ling Ye carries a Gengarite, but after he transmigrates, the chaotic space-time energy disrupts the energy resonance required for Mega Evolution. Only when Gengar's energy is at its peak and Ling Ye is in dire straits can it briefly trigger an incomplete Mega form. The power of bonds is the deep spiritual connection between Ling Ye and his Pokemon. As he reunites with his partners and their bonds grow stronger, he will gradually unlock its potential. At its highest level, it allows humans and Pokemon to share energy: Ling Ye can briefly borrow some of a Pokemon's abilities, while the Pokemon can draw strength from Ling Ye's spirit and even unlock exclusive bond moves.
