Beneath the Truth: I Can't Bear His Love

[Photographer/Embalmer + Jack/Naib + Hermit/Prisoner]

Apologies for the OOC and the headcanons.

“What a beautiful, vibrant life. Such a shame... Wouldn't it be a waste to keep you here?”

On the day Galter smoothly inherited the position of family head, he threw that sapphire brooch into the Thames.

The gem sank beneath the water, and with it went all the love left unspoken, swept away by London's undercurrents. He thought that was the end of it: that person, that past, every longing that should never have existed.

But he never imagined that some things could not be thrown away.

The roar of steam never ceased, day or night, leaving him without a moment's peace.

Chew, swallow. Bitterness spread across his tongue, crept down his throat, and finally settled in his stomach.

The sapphire was still at the bottom of the river.

And that person had long since disappeared, no one knew where.
