Lin Wan is thirty, a deputy section chief in the public sector, divorced, and raising a child.
On the day her divorce is finalized, she gets drunk at a bar and mistakes the man sitting beside her for a male escort. Tipsy, she slaps down her bank card and says, "You're mine for the night."
The man pauses for a second, then agrees.
The next morning, Lin Wan flees, leaving behind 1,300 yuan as her "overnight fee." What she doesn't know is that the man, Lu Chengyu, isn't an escort at all. He's a lieutenant colonel at a military district whose wife divorced him because she couldn't stand a long-distance marriage.
As it happens, the two-person Yunnan travel voucher she won is about to expire, and she has no one to go with. On impulse, she contacts the "escort" again and pays him 10,000 yuan to accompany her for seven days.
Over the week, they watch the sun gild the peaks of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, ride bikes along Erhai Lake in the breeze, and buy daisies at a flower market that will soon wither. She thinks it's a transaction; he thinks it's the beginning. Two people fresh out of divorce cautiously test the waters and draw closer, neither daring to reveal who they really are.
This is my first novel, like learning to walk for the first time, stumbling, but walking with a heart in my hands. In the book, Lin Wan and Lu Chengyu met each other in the evening breeze of the small town. And I also met you when I typed the first word. Thank you to every reader, it is your eyes that give these words a place to rest. I know that the writing is still shallow and the plot is a bit rough. But I will keep doing this writing thing, grinding it slowly, and moving forward slowly. In the next journey, I hope to hand in better answers. Thank you for starting this summer with me. ——The evening wind in the forest will continue to blow.
It is very beautiful, the language is concise and the novel line is clear. It makes people want to read it in one sitting.
Very good, the writing is smooth and the description is delicate
