Ten years into the apocalypse, alien parasites known as “Erosion Cores,” brought by the “spore rain,” are ravaging the globe. Human survivors have taken refuge in “Iron Dome City,” relying on “neural shielding rings” to keep the parasites at bay. The protagonist, Ling Mo, is a low-level scout in Iron Dome City. His parents were falsely accused of being “Disaster Bringers” and executed for studying the Erosion Cores. He grew up bearing their stigma, and after becoming infected, entered a “stasis phase,” turning into a “symbiotic anomaly” between humanity and the Erosion Cores.
