Sweet Indulgence in Jingluo

Everyone in Beijing’s elite circles knows Fu Siheng, the ninth master of the Fu family, as a cold and proud man of noble bearing, ruthless in business and the undisputed head of his company. There has never been a shortage of women around him, but no one has ever seen him care for anyone. Until one day, at a charity gala, a promotional video for traditional Yun brocade played on the big screen The woman in the video had long, cascading black hair and wore a simple silk qipao. Her features held the gentle beauty of a Jiangnan landscape veiled in mist and rain. The whole room fell silent for three seconds. Fu Siheng, seated at the head table, paused with his wineglass in hand. “Who is she?” That night, Shen Wantang, the “Jiangnan enchantress” who had taken the internet by storm, was invited to the most exclusive private banquet in Beijing. Everyone thought Master Fu was merely looking for a bit of novelty, keeping a pretty little plaything. He called her “Miss Shen,” distant and cool. Later, he called her “Wanwan,” with restrained tenderness. Later still, in the study in the middle of the night, he held her close, resting his chin on the crown of her head. His voice low and husky, he asked, “Sweetheart, were you good today?” And when he finally whispered that name in her ear Jichuan. Only then did Shen Wantang realize that the most refined and noble man in Beijing’s elite circles had given every bit of his tenderness to her alone. No stand-in, no first love. Fu Siheng fell in love at first sight with only her, and no one else, in all his life.
