From Substitute to King of Football

At seventeen, I was still a substitute who practically lived on the bench.

No one believed I could make it, until I came on in the final’s last three minutes, scored twice, and clinched the championship with a last-gasp winner.

The System awakened.

It gave me eyes that could see ten seconds into the future.

La Masia reached out to me. Barcelona’s first team was waiting, and the World Cup stage was calling.

They said Chinese people couldn’t play football.

They said an Asian could never become the king of football.

I smiled and stepped onto the pitch.

Ninety minutes later, the whole stadium was on its feet.

From unknown substitute to king of the world, it took me just one match.

But the real test was only just beginning.
