The protagonist and countless ordinary people are cast into this savage land. They go from panicked attempts to survive to learning how to identify dinosaurs, make traps, build camps, and form alliances. Some become dinosaur fodder, others become prey to their fellow humans. But, time and again, the protagonist awakens his survival instincts on the brink of death, uncovers lost prehistoric ruins, tames mighty dinosaurs, and establishes a human stronghold.
