I once had a life that others envied: a successful career, a happy family, a gentle and caring wife, and a steamy life. I thought that stability would accompany me throughout my life, but in a few idle nights, due to a small gambling incident, I embarked on a gambling journey that would never be recovered.
From a few dollars of entertainment to hundreds of thousands of gambles; from the husband who comes home on time, to the gambler who stays out all night; from the guilt-ridden concealment to the paranoia of losing. Wrapped in the false pleasure of winning money, controlled by the obsession to make money, I ignored my wife's tearful pleas to stay, squandered my savings over the years, and tore apart my originally perfect home with my own hands.
The momentary excitement at the gambling table resulted in a tragic ending of heavy debts, betrayal and separation, and the family was on the verge of being broken up. When the prosperity was over and the abyss was ahead, I suddenly realized that the temptations of getting something for nothing were all well-laid traps.
This is a true confession of a gambler. It is a painful experience of falling from the clouds into the quagmire. It is also a sad warning to all those who are trapped in gambling and are lucky: Nine out of ten gambles are cheated. If you gamble for a long time, you will lose. Don't lose your whole life because of a moment of greed.
