In the depths of despair, Chen Rui awakens an ability: a golden barrier.
But what he doesn’t know is that his ability isn’t “defense.”
It’s “resonance.”
He can share his friends’ abilities, but he’s a socially anxious loner with no friends.
Lin Yue’s strength is flowing to him through some invisible connection.
Zhen Xin is a medical school teacher with the unusual ability to make zombies ignore her.
Qi Jiu is an elusive urban wanderer who protects this fallen university with a single javelin.
Lin Yue, Chen Rui’s roommate, killed Li Kai and drove Chen Rui out.
Roger, Chen Rui’s other roommate, is doing something secret in Professor S’s laboratory, even though everyone thinks he’s dead.
And then there is the mysterious Q, a strategy guide expert on the forums who has calculated it all. But before dying, he said, “I’m abandoning my calculations and betting on you.”
Chen Rui doesn’t know what lies ahead, but he’ll protect everyone by his side.
