Yu Yin is an unfortunate eldest daughter exploited by her birth family. Through sheer hard work, she earns a special admission to the best university in the city. While working part-time, she unexpectedly gets into an argument with an alumnus who has returned to donate to the school. Only afterward does she learn that he is the heir to a wealthy family in the province, and she is scared out of her wits. But he takes an interest in her.
When her birth family comes looking for her and forces her to drop out to support her younger sister's education, the alumnus steps in to help. One of his friends thinks she resembles his own mother. He mentions it when he gets home, and this unexpectedly uncovers a secret from more than twenty years ago: she is the long-lost eldest daughter of that wealthy family.
Overnight, she gains loving biological parents and three younger brothers who are fiercely protective of their sister. The alumnus falls deeply in love with her, much to the fury of her three brothers: “You treated me like a brother, and now you want to be my brother-in-law?”
When her adoptive family learns the truth, they shamelessly come crawling back, and her younger sister tries every trick to seduce the alumnus. Unfortunately for them, everyone has already seen through their true colors.
The writing is great and beautiful.
