Other people who transmigrate into a game world become either heroes or geniuses.
The moment Shen Wang opened his eyes, he found himself as the final boss, destined to be mobbed and defeated by the righteous heroes at the end of the story.
The good news was that he wasn’t useless.
The bad news was that this final boss of his hadn’t finished developing yet. His labyrinth was still under construction, he hadn’t reclaimed all his authority, and all he had left for underlings was a group of rather unreliable old retainers. Worse still, the hero had already left the village ahead of schedule, and the righteous faction’s main storyline was progressing at a ridiculous pace. The final showdown could begin at any moment.
To avoid getting killed on the spot in the last stage, Shen Wang had no choice but to disguise himself as an ordinary person while frantically catching up: seizing opportunities, devouring mechanics, claiming dungeons, building his labyrinth, raising monster hordes, reclaiming his authority, and, while he was at it, turning the paths the hero was supposed to take into traps.
Other people level up through hard work. He levels up by “figuring out how to eat the world.”
Other people fear the final boss. He fears the hero arriving before he’s ready.
This is a humorous power fantasy told from the villain’s perspective.
While the hot-blooded hero clears stages and levels up, a cheat-level boss sitting at the endgame desk is also working overtime in the dead of night:
“Stop trying so hard, everyone! If you keep this up, I, the final boss, really will have to pull an all-nighter!”
