Synopsis

(Important things first: this is absolutely not a beast-taming novel!!! It’s heavily plot-focused, the protagonist isn’t invincible, and there’s one heroine. She’s absolutely pivotal to the story, not some disposable character who could be swapped to another gender without changing anything. Trust the author to keep things sweet without overdoing it in the middle.)

“Xiaobai, tell me... why wasn’t our world like this from the beginning?”

Lu Zi’an watched a Hoppip drift past him and asked the question aloud.

“At least it is now, isn’t it?”

The voice of the Rusted Sword echoed in Lu Zi’an’s mind, making him think back on his past once more.

Lu Zi’an reflected on the first half of his life. Looking at the scene before him, with Pokemon and people living together in harmony, he fell into deep thought.

After a long while, he finally grasped some of the truth and couldn’t help sighing.

“My world really did have something wrong with it.”

(The pacing is normal in the early chapters. The sword immortal storyline begins after chapter 35, but this is a Pokemon novel, so the protagonist won’t be wielding a sword to fight Pokemon hand-to-hand.)
