I Transmigrated into the Imperial Exam Hall: A Humble Scholar Slays a Dragon and Becomes Emperor

From the start, I faced a dead end in the imperial examinations. I used my knowledge to fight my way through the Great Jing and claim the throne as its founding emperor! The great clans owned all the best farmland in the land, yet paid not a single coin in taxes.

Poor students spent ten years studying by the cold window, only to be barred from even entering the examination hall.

In the third year of Yong’an under the Great Jing, I, Cui Heng, an outcast struck from the records of the top-ranked noble clan, the Qinghe Cui family, transmigrated into a cubicle at the county examination hall, bringing with me knowledge from a thousand years in the future.

They drugged me to force me to withdraw from the exams. They laughed at a poor scholar like me for daring to dream, convinced I was destined to hand in a blank paper and be nailed to a pillar of shame.

But they didn’t know that I had come here to shatter the iron rule of aristocratic monopoly!

You Cui clan control the examinations? Then I’ll take first place in all six rounds and leave the noble scions of the land unable to hold their heads high.

Your imperial court has no place for the poor? Then I’ll lead an army west and build a haven in the western frontier where the people can live in peace and prosperity.

Your dynasty is rotten to the core, ruled by an evil dragon? Then I’ll take up my sword and slay the dragon, overthrow this old world, and establish a new dynasty where poor families can rise and the people can live in peace!

From a tiny examination cubicle to the throne, from an outcast of a poor family to the founding emperor, I’ll protect those I love and cut down those I hate. I will not fail the people, nor will I fail you.
