The Embroiderer's Comeback on Old Street tells the story of Lin Mo, a fifteen-year-old embroidery apprentice who sets out to prove that her family's ancestral Song-dynasty embroidery, "A Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix," is genuine and refute museum experts who question its authenticity. Combining traditional techniques with modern technology, she uncovers her great-grandmother's identity as a court embroiderer and ultimately saves the embroidery shop on the old street.
