[Transmigrate Into a Book | Slow-Burn Romance | Marriage Before Love | Mutual Devotion | Both Leads Have No Past Relationships]
Jian Xi wakes up one day in the body of the disabled second male lead’s awful replacement bride.
The second male lead is usually deeply devoted.
But only to the heroine.
In the original story, the disabled second male lead had a deceased wife before he met the heroine.
A deceased wife is usually a great love he can never forget.
But in the story Jian Xi transmigrated into, the male lead and the original owner are bitter enemies.
So the second male lead still only loves the heroine, and he has no past relationships.
In the story, the original owner takes her niece’s place and marries the second male lead, who is still in a vegetative state. She abuses his wealth and family connections to throw her weight around, making everyone despise her.
She even drives the second male lead’s grandfather into the hospital, where he eventually dies.
She thinks she can carry on like this forever, but a few months later, the second male lead wakes up, now disabled.
The original owner looks down on his disability, but his stepmother turns her against him, so she refuses to divorce him and repeatedly uses her status as his wife to steal company secrets.
Cheating, driving his grandfather to his death, stealing secrets…
The second male lead eventually finds out, and they divorce.
As soon as the divorce is finalized, her family sells her to a perverted old man, who tortures her to death in less than a year.
The second male lead helps bring this about.
The original owner barely appears in the story. She is already dead and only features in a few lines of dialogue.
Her sole purpose is to make the heroine and the second male lead mistake each other for their lost loves, before the heroine goes off with the male lead.
The character is indispensable, but also seems kind of pointless.
Jian Xi says: It’s very much not pointless!
She doesn’t want to be tortured to death!
Why should she have to keep taking the blame for the original owner’s mistakes?!
Jian Xi says: It wasn’t me. I didn’t do it.
To stay alive, she can only knuckle down and rewrite her life.
(PS: His disability will be cured. No angst, just sweetness.)
