[Uploading minds into space + Alternate history + Fictional Republican era + Best friends + Two female leads + Abstract]
This story takes place in a fictional version of the Republican era. It is entirely fictional and has no connection to the Communist Party, the Nationalist Party, or real history. It tells only a local story of resistance against Japan!!!
Nine hundred years in the future, Earth is depleted. Humanity ventures into space in search of a new home.
Shen Changle and Xu Zhiyin are the closest of partners on an interstellar exploration team, friends who would lay down their lives for each other.
During an expedition to Kepler-79E, a sudden, catastrophic magnetic-field surge injures the entire team.
Shen Changle shields Xu Zhiyin, taking the lethal impact head-on. Her central nervous system is completely paralyzed, her consciousness falls silent, and machines are all that keep her alive.
The Federation’s top officials secretly launch Project Trace the Light.
With Xu Zhiyin accompanying her, the two enter a recuperation pod and upload their consciousnesses to a cloud-based recreation of an ancient ecosystem. They hope that the most intense love, hate, and partings of the old world will stimulate Shen Changle’s dormant nerves.
No one expects a meteorite to strike the cloud system, causing a severe temporal disruption and data shift.
The two consciousnesses do not enter the designated safe simulation.
Instead, they are accidentally cast into a war-torn era that diverges from official history and was never archived: China in the Republican era, engulfed in flames of war.
When they open their eyes again, everything has changed.
The two who once shared life and death among the stars
now stand on opposite sides of a blood feud in this life!
One is the daughter of a northern city’s warlord.
The other is a revenge-seeker driven by hatred.
Bound together by the System, they set out to torment the Japanese army.
