The Legend of Qin Qiong: Journey of the Golden Mace and Jade Steed

In the chaos at the end of the Sui dynasty, young Qin Qiong bears the burden of avenging his father’s murder and carries a pair of ancestral golden maces. He rises from a minor constable in Qizhou to a righteous outlaw, from a valiant general at Wagang to a meritorious hero enshrined in the Lingyan Pavilion. He lets a wanted criminal escape, accepts his father’s killer as his adoptive father, and agonizes over the choice between brotherhood and what is right for all under heaven. In the darkness before Xuanwu Gate, he chooses to “keep public duty and private ties separate.” On guard outside the palace gates, he becomes a Door God, protecting the people.

With golden maces in hand, he roams the realm; astride his jade steed, he traverses mountains and rivers. This is a legend where chivalry intertwines with love of country, an epic of a hero whose single word, “righteousness,” shines into every heart.
