Qi Xia's mind collapses, and the world of flesh and earth warps with his emotions.
He then creates Du Sheng as a vessel and shackle for those emotions.
To save Qi Xia, Du Sheng uses death to separate out pure emotions and create masks.
Du Sheng travels through cycles of catastrophe, navigating between monsters and mask-wearers. Through death and rebirth time and again, he fights Qi Xia's uncontrollable will, seeks the source of the world's distortion, and tries to prevent its destruction.
