A Gentleman of the Republic

In the Republican era, the Xie family is a prestigious clan with a century of history. Its five sons each shine in their own way, and amid the rain and flames of war, each finds the love of his life.

The eldest son, Xie Yanci, wields the power of the family. Steady and responsible, he dotes exclusively on Shen Qingyuan, a refined young lady six years his junior, and uses his family’s deep-rooted influence to give her a lifetime of peace and security;

The second son, Xie Xingyan, rises to fame on the silver screen. Warm and dazzling, he shares a close bond with his dedicated agent, Su Wanning, and their love shines both on and off the screen;

The third son, Xie Linchuan, commands the army. Tough and battle-hardened, he bows only to the white-robed doctor Wen Zhixia, pledging to protect her with all the land beneath the heavens;

The fourth son, Xie Shuheng, is a refined and gentle scholar educated overseas. He and the sweet, well-behaved student Qi Xin come to understand each other in the lecture hall, where their love blossoms through ink and paper;

The fifth son, Xie Yufeng, soars through the skies. Proud and passionate, he falls for his dashing female superior, Qin Shutong, and they fly side by side above the clouds.

Rainy Jiangnan surrounds the family estate, while the turmoil of a time of war seals their love. The five couples of the Xie family hold hands and stay together, writing a beautiful tale of romance and lifelong devotion amid the years of the Republic.
