Football: I Lead the Rossoneri Back to Glory

Li Wen, the Wolf of Wall Street, is reborn as AC Milan’s new owner. But he isn’t here to watch football. He’s here to be a “tyrant.” He purges the management, kicks out the overpaid deadweight, and splashes the cash to poach Paul Pogba... Every Milan fan says he’s crazy. What gives a Chinese financier the right to bring Milan back to glory? Then, after a humiliating defeat in the season opener, Li Wen stands in the locker room before a group of young players and says: “How long have they been calling you a lousy team? I’m here now. Milan won’t have another rotten day.” A “tyrant” isn’t cruel. He’s simply someone no one can stop from winning. A year later, Milan are back on top of Serie A. But when everyone begs him to keep coaching, Li Wen announces in front of them all: “I’m done after this season.” The stadium falls silent. Only the tyrant’s laughter rings through San Siro. The highest achievement of a tyrant is to build a dynasty that can win without one.
