The Silver Protocol

Unemployed designer Lu Chen is so broke he has to sell his old terminal to make rent, yet he brings home a “faulty” android named Xiao Jiu. She hides her malfunctions for him, fears being reset, and asks him, “Do dreams have value?” When the manufacturer shows up with an order to repossess her, Lu Chen finally realizes: what he brought home was no machine, but a soul desperately trying to stay “alive.” In a cyberpunk wasteland, this is a mutual salvation bought with rule-breaking.
