Moon-Scaled Chronicles!

Lu Wuyi is the youngest nine-tailed fox in the mysterious organization Wuxiangyue, lively and sly by nature. While carrying out a mission to find the great demon Xiao Wei, she infiltrates the Luo'an Wei manor. There, she discovers that she is not the only one who came claiming to be Xiao Wei. Wu Shiguang, a mage who uses demon hide as a disguise and bears a deep blood feud, has come too, along with his older sister Wuwangyan, a fellow nine-tailed fox skilled at manipulating people's hearts, and Jiling, a mage of the Shilin Sect who seems innocent but whose identity is in doubt. As they search for the truth, they alternately test and cooperate with one another. They have all come for the Dragon God's power within Xiao Wei, but each has a different purpose. Some want to protect, while others seek to kill. Amid their repeated struggles over the Dragon God's power, they become friends and lovers, yet also discover obstacles between them that seem impossible to overcome. To destroy the source of those obstacles, Jiuying, the leader of all demons, and protect peace in the human world, the four must make painful choices and sacrifices in the face of love, friendship, and even life itself, striving time and again to change the course of fate. Beneath the painted skin lies a clash between the good and evil of human nature, the capricious cruelty of fate, and an eternal question about true love and redemption.
