Slacking Off in Immortal Cultivation: The Three Realms Beg Me to Work Harder

A quick note: my writing isn't the best, so please bear with me, everyone. Love you all!

After transmigrating to the world of cultivation, Lin Xian discovers that he has landed in an involution hell even more terrifying than “996.”

The cultivators here practice for eighteen hours a day, competing to see who can sleep the least;

The alchemists here save on ingredients by turning their pills into dregs, proudly calling it an “efficiency revolution”;

The sword cultivators here obsessively compete to draw their swords faster, forgetting that swords are meant to kill their enemies.

A programmer who died suddenly in his previous life, Lin Xian just wants to lie flat. “Whoever wants to cultivate immortality can do it. I'm going back to sleep.”

Then he activates the [Anti-Involution System]

While others train desperately with their swords, he naps beneath a tree, waking up with profound sword intent;

While others blow up their furnaces making pills, he simmers spirit yams over a low flame, and the finest pill fragrance rises from his pot;

While others fight tooth and nail over resources, he roasts fish in a cave and stumbles upon the ancient heritage of the Carefree Sect.

The sect's senior disciple rebukes him furiously: “How can you be so lazy? Don't you have any respect for the path of cultivation?!”

Lin Xian yawns. “Isn't the whole point of cultivating immortality to stop cultivating?”

Later

A calamity strikes after a thousand years. The demonic path invades, and the involution-obsessed cultivators succumb to cultivation deviation one after another.

Lin Xian stretches as he strolls out of his cave, followed by a group of junior disciples he has “taught into uselessness.”

They are bleary-eyed and yawning, carrying grilled fish and a chessboard.

Seeing this group with no “self-awareness as cultivators,” the Demon Venerable suddenly feels uneasy. “You... aren't you nervous?”

Lin Xian rubs his sleepy eyes. Behind him, the Heavenly Dao manifests, and myriad laws follow:

“What is there to be nervous about? Eat when it's time to eat, sleep when it's time to sleep.”

“After all, ”

“I've become invincible across the Three Realms by doing nothing.”
