Ren Tangtang is the heir to the Ren Group, the foremost of Hong Kong's Four Great Families. He is also the only son of Ren Fa, the “Zombie Taoist Master,” and the younger brother of Ren Tingting. After he gets drunk and dies at a college reunion, he wakes up to find that he has transmigrated into a terrifying world combining all the elements of zombie and ghost movies, including “Mr. Vampire,” “The Haunted Cop Shop,” and “Magic Cop.” His soul has also merged with the original owner's.
To make matters worse, this body is born with a suffocating aura of evil and won't survive past twenty-five. Just as his father Ren Fa and sister Ren Tingting are running around praying to gods and seeking divination to save him, the System finally activates: the “Myriad Worlds Sign-In System” arrives, and the beginner's gift pack contains a [Underworld Patriarch Apprenticeship Card] and a [Nine Netherworld Sacred Body].
After becoming the Underworld Patriarch's disciple, Ren Tangtang not only resolves his problem with the evil aura, but also teaches Ren Fa authentic cultivation methods and helps Ren Tingting awaken her spiritual roots. From then on, three members of the Ren family cultivate the Dao, dominating both the yin and yang realms.
Once his cultivation advances, Ren Tangtang sets out to travel the world, from the corpse-driving villages of western Hunan to the curse-casting dens of Southeast Asia, and from Japanese onmyoji bureaus to Western cathedrals. But whenever disaster looms, whether a thousand-year-old corpse king rises, a rift to hell opens, or the will of Heaven sends down divine punishment, all he can do is shamelessly shout, “Master, save me!”
The Underworld Patriarch curses and grumbles every time he intervenes, smashing the corpse king with a slap, kicking the rift to hell shut, and finally swatting away the divine punishment. Until one day, the Patriarch suddenly says, “Disciple, I've emptied out the entire underworld. Let's take this whole world and ascend together!”
Ren Tangtang: ???
This is the story of a transmigrator who relies on sign-ins, his master, and his whole family's cultivation in a zombie world, until he packs up the entire world and ascends.
