Three Kingdoms: I Mistook Cao Cao for My Father-in-Law from the Start

Su Yi transmigrates to the end of the Eastern Han dynasty, hoping to hole up in Xudu as a lazy rich kid, living off his family until the day he dies.

He plans to grill lamb skewers, make refined salt, and blow glass whenever he feels like it. Life couldn’t be sweeter.

Then one day, his former father-in-law, who had once broken off the engagement, suddenly shows up to sponge off him.

While grilling skewers, Su Yi complains, “Old man, at your age, going to Wancheng to do business is just asking to die! Cao Cao can’t keep it in his pants, Zhang Xiu is bound to rebel, Dian Wei is doomed, and Cao Mengde has no chance of surviving!”

His former father-in-law breaks out in a cold sweat and mobilizes his army in the middle of the night.

Outside Wancheng, Cao Mengde faces the stunning Zou Shi, but stops his outstretched hand and acts with noble restraint.

From then on, his former father-in-law drops by every few days to mooch food and drink.

“Dear son-in-law, Yuan Shao has a million troops. How do we fight him?”

“Dear son-in-law, that big-eared rogue Liu Bei has escaped. Where should we look for him?”

Then one day, Cao Cao surrounds the Su residence with a hundred thousand troops, while all the officials kneel and cry, “We beg you, Master Su, come out of retirement!”

Su Yi is dumbfounded. “My former father-in-law, the one who’s been mooching my refined salt all this time, is Cao Cao?!”
