On Jiang Siya’s first day at the club:
Everyone: Holy crap, what a legend!
Wen Qingci: Riding takes skill, not recklessness. (cold_face.jpg)
Jiang Siya shows up for training with a cut on his face:
Everyone: Holy crap, did Sister Wen beat him up?!
Wen Qingci: If I hit someone, I wouldn’t leave such a tiny mark. (still_cold_face.jpg)
Jiang Siya fails English and is so worried he can’t sleep.
Wen Qingci hands him a handwritten notebook.
Jiang Siya: Whose handwriting is this?
Wen Qingci: Pei Xingxun’s.
Pei Xingxun: ...I didn’t write it. (speechless.jpg)
Jiang Siya leaves the Gu family home and stands by the roadside with his backpack.
Wen Qingci hands him a key.
Everyone: ???
Wen Qingci: Got nowhere to stay? Come to my place. (cold_face.jpg)
Jiang Siya: Sis, why are you so good to me?
Wen Qingci: You’re different.
Jiang Siya: How am I different?
Wen Qingci doesn’t answer.
Later, he figures it out for himself:
She calls everyone else by their full name. She calls him “little brother.”
He thought that was all there was to it.
Until one day, Wen Qingci corners him against a wall. Seeing the bruises all over him, she says in a voice cold as ice:
“Jiang Siya, try hiding something from me again.”
That’s when he realizes she isn’t cold. She’s afraid he’ll get hurt.
Jiang Siya is accused of “not being good enough for Wen Qingci.”
Everyone: They’re from completely different worlds. It’ll never last.
Wen Qingci: I’ll make my own choice. (cold_face.jpg)
She falls into his wilderness, and he pursues her clear light.
Qingci descends into the dark wilderness, and the dark wilderness follows her light.
