A Record of Establishing a Shamanic Altar in Northeast China

This is a true record of a spirit-medium’s experiences.

I went from disbelieving in ghosts and gods to receiving guidance from the immortals, from resisting them to accepting them.

I once summoned a spirit to possess me for a worshipper, allowing the living and the dead to speak across the divide between yin and yang.

I also dealt with tricky cases of people haunted by ghosts, unable to find peace day or night.

The immortals sent warnings in dreams, the spirits of the dead were consumed by lingering resentment, and I handled spirit attachments, spirit-binding, and strange changes in the incense at the shrine...

There were no exaggerated magical battles or fabricated wish-fulfillment scenes.

Every incident was a real experience from my time at the shrine, and every one was resolved by my own hand. When incense rises, it reaches all three realms; with a righteous heart, one can hold the world in peace.
