A Journey Through Miaojiang, a Lifetime of Longing for You

A glass of water splashed onto the computer, and a bolt of lightning struck. Lin Yuanzhou, a bewildered modern college student, transmigrated straight into an imaginary ancient world. He had no money, his clothes were in tatters, and even getting one filling meal was beyond his reach.

Relying on his modern kindness and quick wits, he struggled to survive in this unfamiliar world. Then, while traveling through the mountains, he unexpectedly came across an injured holy maiden from Miaojiang. Cool and aloof, with an imposing presence and eyes full of wariness, she seemed to trust nothing in the world. Yet toward him, her initial suspicion gradually gave way as his sincere care, day after day, quietly melted her frozen heart.

After recovering, the holy maiden slipped away without a word. He continued wandering the world and doing good deeds, thinking they would never meet again, but fate insisted on bringing them back together. After enduring brushes with death and countless hardships, the cool, aloof holy maiden finally let down her guard and joined hands with him. He followed her to Miaojiang, embarking on a love he thought would last a lifetime.

But happiness is never a gift from fate. To protect the holy maiden, he was struck by an incurable poison, and his life began to run out. Beneath the setting sun, he lay in her arms, watching her weep inconsolably, when he suddenly remembered the love-bonding worm she had planted inside him. If he died, her soul would vanish too.

With his final breath, he used all the strength he had left to offer his life as a sacrifice and forcibly remove the love-bonding worm, then closed his eyes with a smile. “I protected you all my life. How could I bear to drag you with me to the underworld?” A meeting that crossed time and space ended in a final farewell between life and death, leaving the holy maiden to spend her life remembering him beneath the setting sun.
