I, Lin Shen, am an ordinary librarian, yet I possess a bizarre ability: the [Fantasy Sequence]. I can see the strongest, truest emotions deep in people’s hearts and anchor each one as a unique transcendent path leading to the divine throne.
To me, other people’s despair is the “Eternal Night Sequence,” a black flame that burns without end.
The fiercest rage can be forged into the “Crimson Radiance Sequence,” which burns through the laws of reality.
An unwavering determination to protect can become the indestructible “Guardian Sequence.”
Even the seemingly useless desire to “eat everything” can be turned into the “Taotie Sequence,” capable of devouring all things.
As for me, I will forever be “Fantasy,” beyond the definition of any Sequence and impossible to anchor to any emotion. I am merely a composer behind the scenes, a detached observer, scattering seeds called “possibility” throughout a peaceful city and quietly watching them sprout, fight, ascend to godhood, or… descend into madness and ruin.
Until one day, I casually anchor an initial Sequence called “Hope” for a dying girl. But she turns to me, looks at me with eyes so clear they reflect the truth of my own emptiness, and softly asks, “Sir, why did you create us?”
The pace is a bit slow, but acceptable. At present, I am mainly laying out the world view, laying out clues, and establishing characters. Those who like fast-paced and exciting novels may feel that there are few fighting scenes. But I personally prefer this sense of horror and suspense that slowly seeps in, like boiling a frog in warm water. By the time something is wrong, the city is already in crisis.
