Fate Can’t Be Escaped: Caught in the Trap of a Dimpled Smile

[Half campus, half workplace + showbiz + love at first sight + attraction at first sight + rekindled romance + pursuing his wife + 1v1 + both leads are each other’s first and only + happy ending]

[A stubborn woman who’s prickly but soft-hearted and allergic to sweet talk + a shameless, adaptable, sharp-witted, devoted puppy of a man. They each love the other’s little quirks: he likes her dimples, and she likes his little canine teeth.]

You Zhi only wants to earn a living and support her family, but she accidentally lands the role of the second female lead.

Gu Chengxi is an investor invited to the production. At the wrap party, her dimples catch his eye. He deliberately picks on her to get her attention, but can’t bring himself to ask for her contact information.

He thinks they’ll never meet again, only to discover she works for his cousin. He uses his expertise to become the office’s savior, repeatedly showing up in front of her.

When she refuses to add him on WeChat, he pretends his phone is broken and shows her the add-contact screen in front of everyone.

“Why won’t this message send? It can’t be that my phone’s out of credit, can it? I just got back from abroad, so I’m not sure how this works.”

After she adds him, he worries she’ll delete him, so he threatens her too: “If my phone breaks again, I hope you’ll help me fix it.”

She’s as hard to pursue as he expected. They have no official relationship, but he gets jealous when she smiles at other people, and even more jealous when she treats someone else better than she treats him.

He chases, she runs. He gets so mad he storms off, only to come clinging back to her like a kicked puppy.

He sets a trap, offering to buy her ten meals as bait, and gradually wins his way into her heart.

You Zhi instinctively avoids him because of his awful behavior. When she learns how great the gap between their social positions is, she becomes even more reluctant to get involved. But as they spend more time together, she can’t help drawing closer, and eventually follows her heart.

In the end, he wins the beauty, and her dimples are every bit as sweet as he imagined~
