Have you ever received an anonymous card?
It had just one line on it: “Do you want to be truly seen?”
Lin Xing, a high school student, is lured by a mysterious card into the abandoned apartment building known as Rusty Iron House on the west side of the city. Trapped there with her are six strangers. There are only five rules: seven floors, seven days, one “recipe” on each floor. Find them all to leave. Every floor has a “guardian.” Don’t let them see you.
But the rules never say what happens if “they” are you yourself.
When the reflection in the mirror starts making decisions for you, when footsteps drown out your companions’ screams, when being seen becomes a curse, Lin Xing discovers that the most terrifying thing was never the monsters. It was the part of herself that wanted to be seen.
Don’t look back. Don’t breathe. Don’t look in the mirror.
