This Earth God Grants Every Wish Recklessly, What a Jerk

The City God of Jiangcheng was promoted. Chen Fan, his godson, had been born with a special ability, so his godfather recommended him as a successor. Just like that, Chen Fan became an acting Land God! But connections alone wouldn’t get him permanently appointed. He had to earn merit and offerings through hard work! The problem was that nobody ever visited this tiny shrine, barely big enough to fill a palm. How was he supposed to earn any merit or offerings? As a modern man, Chen Fan knew how important online traffic was. So he invited his “godson,” an influencer, to bring two major internet celebrities to the shrine! “What’s special about this place? Is there anything worth coming here to see?” “Sure, sure. Make a wish. I’m super effective…” “Land God, if you really can make miracles happen, please bless me with an unexpected windfall. And it’d be great if I could get a few months off too. I’m exhausted and don’t want to work anymore!” Seriously? He bought three yuan’s worth of incense and dared to wish for hundreds of thousands? The next moment, the man finished his prayer, walked out, and got hit by a car. He spent three months in the hospital and received 150,000 yuan in compensation… What the heck, it actually worked… And so the little shrine went viral. People flocked there, eager to see what was going on. Just how much of a rascal was this Land God? Chen Fan’s outrageous stunts grew more and more elaborate. Want a partner? Sure, but you didn’t say whether you wanted a man or a woman! Oh, you want a man? Sure, then go find one from Henan! Before long, the shrine was thronged with worshippers! Chen Fan thought life would go on quietly and peacefully, until one day, the forces of darkness suddenly descended on Jiangcheng! At the moment of crisis, a voice rang out from the Jiangcheng Land God’s Temple: “True Official of the Central Town, Great Land God, Divine Spirit of the Great Dao, God of Fortune and Virtue, here I stand! Demon, face my sword!”
