Su Wan transmigrates into a melodramatic rich-family novel as its most despised character: the vicious ex-wife.
The original Su Wan loved the male lead so much that she lost herself. She had attempted suicide, attacked his idealized first love, offended her in-laws, and caused a scandal during the most critical phase of his project. In the end, she was mocked across the internet, left with nothing in the divorce, and met a miserable fate.
Su Wan arrives at a particularly awful moment:
The day after the original character deliberately caused a scene at a family dinner to force the male lead, Lu Chenzhou, to come home.
The divorce papers are already on the table. Lu Chenzhou waits for her to sign with a cold expression, while everyone in the Lu family is certain she’ll fly into another rage.
But Su Wan doesn’t follow the plot.
Her first move is to take the papers and agree to the divorce, provided they make a clean, dignified break in accordance with their prenuptial agreement and the law. She also demands the return of the shares in her personal studio that had been withheld, along with control of the assets under her name.
For the first time, Lu Chenzhou senses something is off about her.
The woman who used to solve every problem by throwing a tantrum and bursting into tears has suddenly started talking about evidence, boundaries, and terms. Even her gaze has grown calm.
Comment after reading: The story is really well told. How should husband and wife get along with each other in a marriage, and how should they solve and maintain problems when they arise? You can grow your love brain, but you must never forget to be an independent person. When you love your partner, you must love yourself first. Without yourself, it is impossible to manage a successful marriage and life. (Originally, I wanted to give it five stars, but the BG of the writing made me laugh. I was immersed in it and jumped out of it several times. Can the author do a self-examination to catch bugs before publishing? This kind of loophole really makes me dumbfounded. 🤦 😳 [smirking])
