Chen Da, a modern military enthusiast, accidentally traveled to July 1947 and possessed the body of "Chen Da", the commander of the Central Army who was marginalized due to defeat and was about to be liquidated. The clear historical direction in his mind constituted a **countdown threat** - there were less than two years left before the overall situation was decided in 1949. He faces a dilemma: should he surrender to history, or should he use his foresight to carve out a bloody path for himself and his followers in troubled times? He chose the latter, a more difficult and dangerous road to change his destiny.
His actions faced double **environmental/social oppression**: externally, the unstoppable crushing force of the historical torrent, and internally, the suspicion, strife and lack of resources in the decadent military system. What's even more deadly is that he possesses a deadly secret - a small world with 10,000 square kilometers of fertile land and a magical spiritual spring. Once this secret is exposed, he will become the prey of all forces.
Chen Da must complete the impossible task before the countdown ends: be promoted from a precarious regiment commander to a military commander who can control independent forces; attack the powerful and accumulate enough "start-up capital" to support an army to escape overseas; win over people's hearts and cultivate an absolutely loyal core team. He used modern military knowledge, historical insight and the resources of the small world to "pretend to be a pig and eat the tiger" in the old system, and skillfully dealt with it. Every victory accelerates the risk of exposure, and every step forward is like walking on thin ice. In the end, can he lead the team to successfully move south to the chaotic land of northern Myanmar where there are many warlords to establish a country before history completely blocks the retreat?
Reader comments
This book is really well written, describing the true hardships of that era and the insignificance of a soldier in that era.
This novel was written during the war years. Be more realistic. It just looks a little more powerful. It's not as exaggerated as those novels make it out to be. This novel looks more realistic.
This book is well written. It is written that he led a group of less than 1,000 people to northern Myanmar to establish the country. No exaggeration. Go step by step and build the country with difficulty. Investors should exaggerate a bit, maybe more people will like to read it now. Next time the author can write, exaggerate a bit.
The writing is very good and interesting, and the writing is not exaggerated. Not beyond reality.
